The mission of Emerson Elementary School is to ensure that every child meets or exceeds proficiency on State Grade Level Content Standards every year.

We will accomplish our mission by taking responsibility for every child’s learning; implementing a rigorous standards-based academic program; regularly monitoring student progress; differentiating and adjusting instruction; implementing research-based instructional strategies, and collaborating with our community as partners in success for all students.

  • Ensure that all students become proficient in language arts and math.
  • Provide differentiated instruction in core subject areas based on students' needs.
  • Implement fully the Houghton Mifflin Reading Program and EnVision Math curriculum.
  • Commit to implementation of Standards Based Planning.
  • Work collaboratively in highly functional Professional Learning Communities.
  • Maximize all resources and involve all stakeholders to meet student academic needs and improve learning.
  • Implement a wide variety of Engagement Strategies.
  • Consistently use data dis-aggregation to ensure best first instructional practices.
